Elevator Pitch 2

Feedback: My roommate helped me with recording my last Elevator Pitch. One piece of constructive criticism he had was to hone in on what I wanted to say beforehand. Essentially to master my speech so that I didn't waste any time saying "umm" or other noticeable pauses. The biggest thing to remember is being clear and concise, you don't want to simply throw a bunch of information at the person and hope some of it sticks. He also added that I should enunciate more, which I tried to improve upon this time around.

Based on the feedback, I tried to do a better job making a first impression. Volume and eye contact are two key factors to consider when communicating face-to-face, which was somewhat difficult to gauge when speaking into a camera.

Create a Customer Avatar

My prototypical customer is a young adult male, aged 15-25. He is an avid sports fan, who enjoys using sports as a social aspect of his life. For instance, he watches the big game with his friends, often watches games at a sports bar, or even attends multiple live events annually. The majority of his day revolves around sports: He checks his fantasy team's lineup when he wakes up in the morning. He listens to his favorite sports podcast on his way to school. He may even gamble on his team if he's feeling lucky.

Since he is a student on a tight budget, he doesn't drive a car, he takes public transport to campus everyday. After a long day of studying, he unwinds with an hour of ESPN's "Pardon the Interruption" and "Around the Horn". His favorite book is "Belichick and Brady" by Michael Holly. He gets involved with many arguments on social media defending his favorite teams.

WHAT DO WE HAVE IN COMMON?
Sports drive our daily life. My attention span differs based on what I'm focusing on. Sports give me the longest attention span. Growing up in New England, I have witnessed countless championships from my favorite teams: Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins. I have owned more jerseys than I can remember. I strongly identify with my prototypical customer, because the market I am trying to serve is my group of friends.
